FAIRLAWN, Ohio - A fire broke out just after 9 p.m. Thursday in an apartment on the 2800 block of Riviera Drive in Fairlawn.
According to Fairlawn firefighters everyone who lived in the apartment was able to escape safely.
At least one person was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The apartment building houses four units; only one was damaged by the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Fairlawn fire crews were assisted by Copley, Bath and Akron fire departments.
