AKRON, Ohio - The Akron-Canton Regional Airport now has the funding to resurface pavement and buy new equipment.

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced Thursday that the airport received a grant for nearly $3.5 million for the improvements.

The money will be used to resurface the airport’s taxiway and to buy a new high-speed snow removal sweeper.

The grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration.
