SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio - Two murder suspects, accused of killing men they lured to Ohio with job promises, are not allowed to have any contact with each other while they are in Summit County Jail.

But Summit County Court of Common Pleas Judge Lynne Callahan has blocked access to the reason for her ruling.

Seventeen-year-old Brogan Rafferty, of Stow, is at the same jail as 52-year-old Richard Beasley, of Akron.

It is not clear what, if any contact, the two suspects have had while incarcerated at the same facility over the last several weeks.

Beasley is said to have been a mentor to Rafferty.

They are accused of using craigslist to get men to come to rural parts of Ohio. Police said they robbed and killed three men, and tried to kill a fourth.

Rafferty waived his right to a hearing on being tried as an adult. He pleaded not guilty to all charges in county court on May 25. As a juvenile, he cannot face the death penalty.

Beasley also has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he does face the death penalty.

Public access to a request for a no-contact separation order and a motion on the matter is denied by the judge with no reason given on the docket.

On Wednesday, the judge's decision on was made available to the public.

It simply states, "For good cause show, it is ordered that the defendant Richard James Beasley is to be kept separate and apart from defendant Brogan Rafferty while housed at the Summit County Jail."
