AKRON, Ohio - Ten U.S. Army soldiers will go for the gold at the 2011 Olympics and one of them is from Akron.
Spc. Justin Lester is among three U.S. Army soldiers competing in the Greco Roman wrestling competition.
These three wrestlers are a part of the Army’s “World Class Athlete Program,” which allows members of the military to train to become athletes.
Though, while training for the Olympics, these athletes are still full-time soldiers who must complete their military duties in addition to their athletic training.
The other two U.S. soldiers competing in the wrestling competition are Dremiel Byers from Kings Mountain, N.C. and Spenser Mango from St. Louis, Mo.
