AKRON, Ohio - Akron police offers responded to a shooting reported on Lakewood Boulevard on Tuesday.
Stephon Allen, 20, and Cedric Weatherspoon Jr., 20, told police they were leaving a business when they were shot at by two men in a silver Chevrolet Impala with Florida license plates.
Police said Allen was hit in the leg several times and was take to Akron General Medical Center, where his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Weatherspoon was not struck.
One suspect was identified as Thomas Blankenship, 29 of Akron, and detectives are looking for help from the public to locate Blankenship. Akron police said he is considered armed and dangerous.
If any person knows anything about Blankenship’s whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Akron Police Department at 330-375-2490. The other suspect in the shooting has not been identified.
Police have also reported that shortly before noon on Tuesday, shots were fired in the area of Cole Avenue and Moore Street in Akron.
Several homes in the area were hit with bullets, but no injuries were reported. Suspects were seen in what is thought to be a 2013 black Dodge Dart.
