Akron man tied up, beaten in Harold Street home invasion; 2 in custody

AKRON, Ohio - Akron police have two men in custody following a home invasion on Harold Street.

Police responded to the incident at about 8 p.m. Monday after one the residents reported hearing a loud noise on the first floor of their home.

The resident was then confronted by two men in his bedroom, who demanded money and drugs.

The suspects took cash from the bedroom and forced the victim into the basement, where they tied him to a chair, poured laundry detergent on him and beat him with a pistol and pipe.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for his injuries. There was no immediate word on his condition.

The names of the victim and suspects have not been released.
