GREEN, Ohio - Summit County Sheriff's deputies say a two-and-a-half mile foot pursuit through the woods led to the arrest of a man accused of stealing at least six vehicles.
The six vehicle break-ins were reported Feb. 1 and Feb. 2. Around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, a deputy arrived to investigate the latest call and noticed a man carrying a backpack near the woods on Koons Road.
When the man, later identified as Timothy Hicks Jr., 28, was confronted by the deputy, he took off running through the woods.
The deputy pursued Hicks on foot while other deputies set up a perimeter. Hicks was later caught and had stolen property from the thefts, deputies said.
Hicks was charged with theft and obstructing official business. He was taken to the Summit County Jail.
Authorities said Hicks left the RIP Program at the Oriana House and is a suspect in numerous burglaries throughout Green. Future charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
