AKRON, Ohio - Akron police discovered more than 180 marijuana plants growing in a home in Akron on Friday night.
Police were called to a home on Treeside Drive at about 11:27 p.m. Friday for a domestic dispute.
A man and woman were at the home. The woman opened the door and allowed officers inside. That’s when officers smelled the odor of marijuana.
Officers found a large amount of marijuana, along with digital scales in plain view in the living room. During a protective sweep of the home, officers discovered a hydroponic growing operation in plain view in the basement of the home.
Police said there were more than 180 marijuana plants and 30 large jars of marijuana. Police also found $32,000 in cash.
Clinton Lockhart, 27, and Dominique Williams, 24, were both arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of criminal tools, possession of marijuana and trafficking in drugs.
They are in the Summit County jail awaiting their first court appearance.
