JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A 17-year-old girl was injured in a crash at Mt. Pleasant Road and High Mill Avenue NW in Jackson Township just before 11 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver of a grey car heading west on Mt. Pleasant Road failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the 17-year-old girl heading north on High Mill Avenue NW.
The teenager was transported by EMS to Akron General with minor injuries.
The driver of the grey car ran from the scene on foot after causing the crash.
Police brought in a police dog and attempted to track that person down but were unsuccessful.
The intersection was closed for about two hours while troopers investigated and reconstructed the accident.
