CANTON, Ohio - Northeast Ohio's Stark State College plans to build an oil and natural-gas training site in Canton.
The college will install a pump jack and well head, tanks, a separator and other equipment on what now is a parking lot.
According to The Repository the complex will be part of an energy institute with indoor labs and the outdoor equipment.
The training site will cost $1.3 million.
The college offers three associate degrees through its oil and gas training program.
The region sits amid shale formations that have spawned a growing oil and natural gas industry.
