CANTON, Ohio - A suspect running from deputies after crashing his car was found at a Canton bar, the Stark County Sheriff’s Office said.
It happened at about 10 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 30th Street NE and Martindale Road.
The sheriff’s office said the man crashed his car, and then fled when deputies arrived.
Soon after, dispatchers received a call from someone at Nathan’s Patio, a nearby bar. The caller said that a man came into the bar, saying he was just in an accident and needed a beer.
Deputies went to Nathan’s Patio and arrested Chad Edward Courtney, who had an active warrant for aggravated burglary. The bar refused to serve Courtney so he did not end up getting his beer, according to sheriff’s deputies.
