ZANESVILLE, Ohio - Canton police have arrested two more suspects in the death of a woman found burned on a rural road near Zanesville, Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said.
On Aug. 26, 29-year-old Celeste Fronsman, of Canton, was discovered naked and badly burned near state Route 208 and Steel Hill Road. She died two days later after being taken by medical helicopter to a Columbus hospital.
On Monday, Canton police arrested Monica Jean Washington, 24. Muskingum County Sheriff’s detectives interviewed Washington and were able to serve a warrant for her arrest.
At about 1 p.m. Tuesday, detectives arrested a third suspect, 33-year-old LaFonse Darney Dixon, Lutz said.
Washington and Dixon were charged with aggravated murder, kidnapping and aggravated arson. Last week, 20-year-old Katrina Marie Culberson, of Canton, was arrested on the same charges.
"I don't that words can describe it. Nobody, I guess, deserves to die or be killed. And the manner that this young lady was killed was very violent and very gory. And so words can't describe those things, so it was horrific act," Lutz said.
Fronsman had second, third and fourth-degree burns on about 80 percent of her body, the Franklin County coroner said. She had a rope around her neck and was also raped.
The case is still under investigation and anyone with information should call the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office at 740-452-3637 Ext. 6148.
