A suspected drunken driver threatened to kill Jackson Township police and blow up the police department with a grenade, authorities said.
Jackson Township police pulled over a 22-year-old Canal Fulton man on suspicion of OVI and speeding around 2:20 a.m. Thursday on Fulton Road.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Jackson Township Police Department for booking.
During booking, the driver attempted to remove his handcuffs, forcing officers to physically restrain him.
The man became irate, threatened to shoot police then shoot up and blow up the Jackson Township Police Department with a grenade, officials said.
The man was transferred to the Stark County Jail where he awaits arraignment.
