CANTON, Ohio - The FBI is looking for the man responsible for five area bank robberies, including four inside Giant Eagle grocery stores.
Special Agent Stephen D. Anthony said most of the robberies happened on Fridays between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and all of the banks were inside grocery stores. Each time, the man either showed he had a weapon in the waistband of his pants or indicated to the cashier that he had a weapon with him.
According to the FBI, the robberies started with the U.S. Bank inside Fishers Foods in Canton on July 2. The subject then hit the following banks:
- July 20: U.S. Bank, located inside the Giant Eagle on Graham Rd., Cuyahoga Falls
- July 27: Huntington Bank, located inside the Giant Eagle at 4700 Belmont Ave., Youngstown
- Aug. 3: Huntington Bank, located inside the Giant Eagle at Washington Square, North Canton
- Aug. 10: Huntington Bank, located inside the Giant Eagle at 608 Raff Rd. SW, Canton
The FBI said the man has an olive skin complexion and usually has one to two days of facial hair growth. He is between 5 foot 9 and 6 foot 2.
