CLEVELAND - A Lake High School senior says she began singing in 7th grade and hasn't stopped carrying a tune. Inspired by last year's talent on "American Idol," Amelia Finefrock decided to try out during the Pittsburgh auditions.
On AmericanIdol.com, Finefrock described herself as a "quiet" girl who discovered singing only five years ago. She sang in her 7th grade talent show and "was bit by the singing bug" ever since.
In front of the "Idol" judges, Finefrock first sang a bluesy number "Syrup and Honey," but the judges wanted to hear something else. Finefrock's second choice was the Jackson 5 song "I Want You Back."
Finefrock told the Canton Repository she walked away with a lot of constructive criticism, two "yes" votes (from Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez) and a yellow piece of paper sending her to Hollywood.
So, can the local singer go all the way? Hollywood week is known for making or breaking talent. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
