NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The posters for the movie "Underdogs" say 'In the Heart of Ohio it's God, Family and Football... but not always in that order.' The new movie is going to be filmed in and around the North Canton area.

The director of the movie, Doug Dearth, is a Canton native and a graduate of Lake High School. He said growing up in Canton he understands the rivalry that goes on between cross town teams. With that theme in mind, what better place to shoot the movie than in his hometown.

For those interested in being a football player or cheerleader in the movie, there will be an open casting call on Saturday, June 30, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the former Hoover building at 219 East Maple Street, North Canton, Ohio. If interested, you have to be between the ages of 18 and 24, and you can get an application on the movie website .

There will be other casting calls in the future.
