BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A 21-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash with a semi-truck carrying a load of gravel Wednesday morning in Stark County.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Sapphira C. Ciriano of Newcomerstown was driving north on state Route 21 near Lawndell Road in Bethlehem Township, which is just south of Navarre. Her Buick Park Avenue went left of center and hit the tractor trailer at about 10:15 a.m.
Ciriano was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said. The driver of the truck, a 52-year-old Carrollton man, was taken to Affinity Hospital in Massillon for minor injuries. He was treated and released.
The patrol said both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
