ALLIANCE, Ohio - A couple of University of Mt. Union students are facing charges after Alliance police and firefighters had to rescue them from a water tower.
Alliance police said officers found the intoxicated group “ringing in the new school year” on Saturday halfway up the city water tower on West 23rd Street. The students climbed up the using the electrical conduit to a platform.
The recovery operation took more than 90 minutes and tied up Alliance fire engines 11 and 12, police said. The police department posted video of the incident on its Facebook page: http://5.wews.com/YuG
The students have been charged with underage consumption and trespassing.
