CANTON, Ohio - Two Canton police officers were injured in an overnight crash while responding to an breaking and entering call.
Police said the accident happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday on Walnut Avenue NE & 12th Street NE.
Police said a driver of a car ran a red light and crashed into the officers' cruiser while they were en route to a B & E.
Police said Officer Eric Brown and Officer Joshua Tanner both suffered injuries and were transported to Aultman Hospital. As of Sunday evening, Brown was still being treated, but Tanner had been released.
Police said the injured officers’ did have on their sirens and lights while responding to the call.
Police also said that both vehicles were significantly damaged.
Additional information on the person who ran the red light was not released.
