PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A suspected impaired driver crashed into a truck in the intersection of Everhard Road NW and Whipple Avenue NW after running a red light, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The driver of a minivan was eastbound on Everhard Road NW when they ran the red light and struck a northbound pickup truck with two people inside, around 2 a.m. Thursday
The minivan went off the road and crashed into the traffic light pole. The driver was transported to a local hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck and passenger was not injured in the crash.
Troopers at the scene said they suspected the driver of the mini van was driving impaired.
The names of the drivers were not released.
