CANTON, Ohio - Canton police were involved in a pursuit with a stolen truck that started on Fulton Drive NW and ended in North Canton on Ashford Circle NE between 1:00 and 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
According to Canton police, officers tried to stop the stolen truck with three people inside. It happened in the area of 1500 Fulton Road NW. The driver took off leading police onto I-77 north and continued northbound on I-77 before exiting on Shuffel Street NW.
Once on Shuffel Street, the driver went east to Orion Road NW then turned on to Ashford Circle NE in North Canton, a dead end street.
Once on Ashford Circle NE, the driver went down a driveway into the backyard of the home and stopped. All three people inside the truck ran.
A male and female were caught after a short foot chase.
The male driver was able to run for about 20 minutes before being caught by Stark County Sheriff Deputies in the area of Applegrove St NW and Sanctuary Boulevard NE.
State Highway Patrol, North Canton police, Jackson Township police and Stark County Sheriff deputies all assisted Canton with the pursuit.
Canton police have not yet released the names of the suspects or what charges they could face.
