WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - An Alliance woman was killed in a Stark County crash Friday afternoon.
It happened at about 12:05 p.m. at state Route 153 and Anderson Avenue in Washington Township.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Barbara Tarantine, of Alliance, did not stop at a stop sign in her Chevrolet S-10. That’s when her truck was hit by a Ford Escape, driving by a Carrollton man.
Tarantine was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. Troopers said she was taken to Aultman Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The other driver suffered serious injuries, but they were not life-threatening. He was taken to Aultman Hospital for treatment.
The patrol has not determined if alcohol was a factor and the crash is still under investigation.
