Alliance woman stabbed to death, roommate charged with murder

ALLIANCE, Ohio - An Alliance woman died of multiple stab wounds inside her apartment just before midnight on Sunday.
A neighbor called police to a building on East Columbia Street for a possible domestic dispute.
Alliance police said officers forced their way into the apartment and found the victim, 35-year-old Angela Lewis. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was only one other person in the unit, Jawanza Scott aka Mathew David Scott, who also lived there. Police said Scott was combative with officers during his arrest.
He was charged with murder, assaulting a police officer, resisting an officer and obstructing official business.
Scott was arraigned in Alliance Municipal Court on Monday. He is being held at the Stark County Jail on $1 million bond, police said. His preliminary hearing is set for Friday.
