61-year-old alleged Alliance strangler arrested & charged with attempted murder, retaliation

ALLIANCE, Ohio - A 61-year-old Alliance man has been arrested after allegedly violently retaliating against a woman.

James Lavon Harris was arrested Tuesday on charges of attempted murder, aggravated burglary, and menacing by stalking and retaliation.

Police said Harris broke into a home on the 600 block of East Market Street just after 8 p.m. and strangling and stabbing a woman.

Harris was previously convicted of burglarizing the same victim in 2011.
