ZANESVILLE, Ohio - The second of three suspects has pleaded guilty in the killing of a woman found covered in burns and wailing on a rural Ohio roadside.
Monica Washington of Canton pleaded guilty to aggravated murder Monday in Muskingum County. County prosecutor Michael Haddox tells the Zanesville Times Recorder the 25-year-old agreed to testify and his office removed the possibility of the death penalty.
Another woman charged pleaded guilty last fall in a deal to escape a possible death penalty. The third suspect, LaFonse Dixon Jr. of Canton, pleaded not guilty and is expected to be tried this year.
They're charged in the death of 29-year-old Celeste Fronsman, who was burned and had a strap around her neck when a driver spotted her in August 2012. She died two days later.
