CANTON, Ohio - Several police agencies tracked down the suspect in a deadly shooting at a Canton bar.
Just after 2 a.m. Saturday, Canton police officers were called to The Friendly Corner Tavern on Harrison Avenue.
They found 41-year-old Roosevelt Newell with a gunshot wound to his upper leg, the department said. Newell was taken to Aultman Hospital, where he died hours later.
On Wednesday, the Canton SWAT team, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Stark County Metro Narcotics Unit and the Canton Police Special Investigations United arrested Samuel Woods, 29, of Columbus for murder. He was found at a house on Shadyside Avenue.
