CANTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A teenager from Stark County has died following a crash Monday afternoon.
Amber Hall, 18, of Magnolia, died on New Year’s Day, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The crash happened at about 4:10 p.m. Monday on State Route 800 in Canton Township.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Hall lost control of her Chevy Lumina, causing it to slide across the center line and into the path of another car.
Hall’s car was struck on the passenger side and pushed off the road. She was taken to Aultman Hospital and then transferred to Akron General Medical Center, where she later died.
The driver of the other car, 45-year-old Melissa Haney of East Sparta, suffered non-life threatening injuries, the patrol said.
Troopers said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
