MIFFLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Wayne County man was killed after the tractor trailer he was driving flipped over in Mifflin Township Monday.
The crash happened at about 9:15 a.m. near the intersection of US 30 and Interstate 71.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said 63-year-old Thomas Lloyd of West Salem was driving south on I-71 and tried to get on US 30 west, but his truck went off the left side of the road and overturned.
The truck landed upside down in a gore area. Lloyd was trapped in the cab of the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Richland County Coroner’s Office, troopers said.
US 30 west was closed for about 3 hours Monday.
The patrol said this was the first fatal crash in Richland County in 2012.
