MANSFIELD, Ohio - Touted as the toughest adventure challenge on the planet, Tough Mudder has decided against holding the event in Lorain. Instead, the challenge will take place in Mansfield.
The 10-12 mile obstacle course, designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie, includes obstacles like diving into freezing water, being shocked by live wires and much more.
"Lorain had one location that was under consideration during the site selection process. New Russia Township in Lorain County had another site Tough Mudder looked at," explained Barb Bickel, Visit Lorain County executive director in a news release.
"There were several sites around Ohio under consideration once Tough Mudder determined they would not be back to the Quarries in South Amherst. Although participants loved the site, the organizers of the event had a difficult time staging it on the Quarry terrain. We are disappointed they will not be returning."
If you signed up for the Lorain Tough Mudder event, take note it has been changed to the Mansfield Lahm Regional Airport - 2000 Harrington Memorial Rd. - Mansfield, Ohio 44903 on April 27, 2013.
Its website boasts by running a Tough Mudder challenge, you’ll unlock a true sense of accomplishment, have a great time, and discover a camaraderie with your fellow participants that's experienced all too rarely these days.
Tough Mudder has already challenged half a million participants worldwide and raised more than $3 million for the Wounded Warrior Project.
