FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A 57-year-old Mansfield woman was killed in a head-on crash Monday morning in Franklin Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Cathy Schwan was driving southbound on state Route 545 at about 9:28 a.m. when she went left of center. Her Saturn SL hit a Mack truck head-on just south of Richland-Shale Road.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office pronounced Schwan dead at the scene, troopers said. The driver of the Mack truck, which is owned by Rumpke Transportation Company, suffered minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
