STREETSBORO, Ohio - A man and woman are under arrest after police say they found crystal meth and other drugs in a Streetsboro hotel room.

Streetsboro police responded to a report of possible drug activity at the Fairfield Inn at 9783 State Route 14 Tuesday. After an observation by a hotel employee, officers said they checked room 101 and got permission from a man and woman inside to perform a search.

Police said they found a small amount of marijuana, some prescription pills and a baggie of crystal meth.

The crystal meth weight was approximately 1 oz. and has an estimated street value of about $6,000, according to police, who called it a significant find because this type of meth is relatively new to this area.

They describe it as a more pure type of crystal meth known as “ice” or “glass,” different from homemade “shake-and-bake” meth.

Brian Crawford, 32, of Kent was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and Christina Dunham, 32, of Kent was charged with complicity to possession of drugs. Both charges are second degree felonies.

The case was turned over to the Portage County Drug Task Force and remains under investigation.
