Stow teenager accused of sexually assaulting 15-month-old girl

RAVENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Portage County sheriff's deputies have arrested a teen accused of sexually assaulting an infant.
Saturday, sheriff deputies arrested Logan A. West, 18, of Stow, in the 5600 block of S. Prospect Street in Ravenna Township while assisting Ravenna Township EMS on a call for an injured 15-month-old female.
Upon arrival, the injured infant was transported to Robinson Memorial Hospital then transferred to Akron Children's Hospital.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the trauma to the infant appeared to be a result of a sexual assault.
Several witnesses were present at the time of the sex assault including West, who is the infant’s mother’s boyfriend.
West is cooperating with authorities.
West was taken into custody on Monday and is being held in the Portage County Jail. He was charged with Rape of a child under the age of 10 years and was arraigned Tuesday morning at the Ravenna Courthouse.
The infant was released from Akron Children’s Hospital on Monday, August 6.
