RAVENNA, Ohio - The Portage APL is offering discounts on dog and cat adoptions in hopes that the spirit of giving will continue for the four-legged friends without homes.
Through the end of January, dog adoptions are $125 (regularly $150) and cat adoptions cost $40 (regularly $50).
"It's hard to come out of the holidays with record adoptions and worry that the next month or two will slow down. This time of year, we usually see a decrease in adoptions and donations," explained Chalan Lowry, executive director. "We're trying to think of ways to keep our adoptions steady and money coming in. There are still plenty of animals here that didn’t get their 'home for the holidays' (some who have been waiting over a year) and we want to help them find a fur-ever home soon!"
The shelter wants their four-legged friends, who were previously abused or neglected, to get a safe, loving home.
All dogs and cats adopted are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, checked for appropriate disease and free of fleas and worms. Many are also microchipped and have an additional medical history.
To shelter and find safe homes for injured, abused and abandoned animals.
