RAVENNA, Ohio - A number of Ravenna residents were taken into custody in two separate drug busts this week.

On Tuesday, Portage County Drug Task Force Agents arrested and booked into the Portage County Jail 29-year-old Jonathan Casteel trafficking in marijuana with a juvenile present.  He was also charged with endangering children.

The sheriff said the arrest followed a five month investigation into alleged drug trafficking from the home where agents have been following up on numerous complaints. Agents said they found an undetermined amount of money and marijuana packaged for distribution.

On Thursday, the task force carried out a large drug bust, arresting eight more people in Ravenna.  Task force members and Ravenna police said they received multiple complaints about drug trafficking on Plum Way and recovered both powder and crack cocaine from the home.

Antoinetta L. Latimer, 45 was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia

The following people were booked into Portage County Jail on a possession of cocaine charge:

- Jerome C. Latimer, 26
- Anthony Ramel Kirklin, 59
- Xavier Kris Jones, 20
- Quenton D. Burrell Jr, 18
- Joshua L. Hixon, 29
- Jamiran Nyrie Mack, 22
- Deanglo Marcus Frost, 24

Task Force Agents will present additional evidence to the Portage County Prosecutor’s Office and the Grand Jury seeking additional charges in both cases.
