RAVENNA, Ohio - West Branch Park Rangers are investigating a drowning in the reservoir Saturday night.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office said around 8 p.m., 22-year-old Jeff Fox decided he would swim across the cove. Fox got three-quarters of the way across, then went under the water and did not come back up.
The Portage County dive team responded. They decided not to search in the cove due to a large amount of under brush in that area of the water.
The search for Fox resumed Sunday at 8 a.m.
His body was found at 12:05 p.m.
Officials said they are not sure why Fox was swimming there, and the incident is still under investigation.
