RAVENNA TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Ravenna Township man is in jail after allegedly leading police and sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase in a dump truck. Officers said they found more than 50 marijuana plants on the man’s property Monday.
According to Portage County Sheriff David Doak, members of the Portage County Drug Task Force spotted marijuana plants growing outside the home of Mark Hagy, 52, on Indian Canoe Trail.
As the agents approached the home, Hagy left the home in a dump truck and led officers on a chase, which ended near the intersection of Peck Road and Newton Falls Road, Doak said.
After obtaining a search warrant, task force agents said they found 56 marijuana plants, a marijuana grow room and drug paraphernalia on Hagy’s property.
Hagy was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana, a third degree felony, and was booked into the Portage County Jail.
