KENT, Ohio - Kent State University is hosting it's annual "Haunted Wreck" party Thursday on campus from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

It will be held at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center as well as the Kent State Ice Arena.

"They will go through different spooky areas and collect Halloween candy," said Marketing Coordinator Abby Millsaps.

Organizers purchased 20,000 pieces of candy for the free family event. Between 1,500 and 2,000 people are expected to attend.

People are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. It's a haunted carnival theme, so expect scary looking clowns, several games and trick-or-treating.

For those kids with dietary restrictions, there will be gluten-free, peanut-free and vegan candies.

"We want to address all the dietary needs that different families might have. So, we have a treat exchange this year. Kids will go through, they'll collect the Halloween candy just like normal. As they leave, they can exchange their bags," said Millsaps.

You will need to bring a non-perishable food item to attend. Kent State will donate those items to the United Way.
