BRIMFIELD, Ohio - A Brimfield man has been charged with eight counts of rape after police say he had a "sexual relationship" with a 12-year-old girl.
On Wednesday, Brimfield police were tipped off that 20-year-old Dustin Hayes was involved with the girl. After an investigation, Hayes was arrested at about 5 p.m. Thursday at a house in Akron.
According to the police department, Hayes was charged with eight first-degree felony counts of rape. He was taken to the Portage County Justice Center, where he awaits arraignment.
More charges could be filed after the case is turned over to the Portage County Prosecutor’s office.
