NELSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A 16-year-old Garrettsville boy was killed when he lost control of his car Tuesday afternoon.
Nicholas D. Stock, 16, was driving north on state Route 88 when his car slid on the wet pavement at a gradual curve, the Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. His car hit a Ford pick-up truck head-on.
Stock died as a result of his injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is not believed to be a factor, troopers said.
The 62-year-old driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries.
The patrol said this is the 11th fatal crash in Portage County in 2012.
