WADSWORTH, Ohio - The Wadsworth Police Department is mourning the loss of a K-9 officer.

JAGER, a 10-year-old German Shepherd, worked for the department for nine years as a narcotics detector and tracking K-9.

In his time with the department, JAGER helped police make arrests and seizures of money, narcotics and vehicles.

Jager died on Nov. 29 in the arms of his handler and partner Officer Michael Cindia, who is a 13-year veteran of the Wadsworth Police department.

A private memorial service is being held on Saturday morning at Wadsworth at City Hall to honor the passing of JAGER. The Wadsworth Police Department expressed its condolences to the family of Officer Cindia.
