BRUNSWICK, Ohio - Brunswick police are warning residents of a possible phone scam.

Officers posted to the department's Facebook page that they are receiving multiple reports of someone calling residents pretending to work for the Illuminating Company.

The male caller asks residents for personal information.

When questioned by some callers, the man then hangs up.

Police said the calls are coming from telephone number 402-727-2510.

Residents that receive calls from this number are encouraged to refrain from sharing any personal information. Instead, officers advise residents hang up and call Brunswick Police at 330-225-9111.
