HARRISVILLETOWNSHIP, Ohio - Authorities say a 37-year-old man from Lodi is in guarded condition at an Akron hospital after crashing into a semi early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 5:50 a.m. Tuesday on US 224 west and Vandermark Road in Harrisville Township.
The Medina post of the State Highway Patrol said Shane Elswick, 37, of Lodi, was driving northbound on Vandermark Road when he went into the westbound lanes of US 224.
That's when Elswick's Camry struck the front of a semi.
Authorities said Elswick was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. He was taken by helicopter to an Akron hospital where he's in "guarded condition."
The semi driver wasn't hurt.
Alcohol is not a factor in the wreck. The crash remains under investigation.
