BRUNSWICK, Ohio - More than 4,000 pounds of turkey and nearly 400 volunteers at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Brunswick have been cooking for days, packing food baskets, and preparing to deliver meals to those in need. "There is some need in our region, especially among the elderly. We want to make sure that they have both food and friendship," said St. Ambrose pastor Bob Stec .
The church will feed more than 4,000 people, deliver meals to a dozen shelters from Cleveland to Akron and many other cities, including the Children's Home in Berea. "We are one community and we all need to take care of each other," said Stec.
St. Ambrose parishioners donated about 400 turkeys and hundreds of jars of peanut butter and jelly to help those in need this holiday.
The church will host a community meal on Thanksgiving Day from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. St. Ambrose Catholic Church is located on Pearl Road.
