BRUNSWICK, Ohio - The state will spend about $450,000 to fix a railroad crossing in the Cleveland area where four high school students were killed in a graduation-day wreck.

The June 3 accident in Columbia Township southwest of Cleveland happened at a well-known spot for motorists to "jump" their vehicles.

The Plain Dealer reported Thursday ( http://bit.ly/Rjt4MF ) that work will begin in June and is expected to take most of the summer.

Christine Myers, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Transportation, says 90 percent of the cost will be paid with federal safety funds administered by the state.

The repair work involves raising the road's slope to alleviate the steep incline on both sides of the crossing.
