MEDINA, Ohio - The pony found in Medina County with a chain embedded into its neck has died, the Medina County SPCA said.
The pony, named Charity, was discovered by a humane officer Thursday evening. The next day, the officer found a puppy with no food or water hiding under a truck cap. The dog also had a harness embedded into its chest.
Stephanie Moore with the Medina County SPCA said Charity died Tuesday evening after being transferred to the veterinarian hospital at Ohio State University. While in Columbus, techs figured out she was also pregnant.
The baby was about full term and in the birth canal, but also died, Moore said.
According to Moore, officials do know who owned the animals, but charges have not been filed.
The puppy is being adopted by a Copley vet that took care of her and is doing fine.
