BRUNSWICK, Ohio - A mother was arrested over the weekend for allegedly leaving her two children home alone, and then a third child at McDonald’s by himself while she went to do laundry.
Officers were called to the McDonald's on Laurel Square around at 9:20 a.m. Sunday for a report of a child left unattended in the play area.
Witnesses said they saw the boy waving at his mother while she pulled out of the parking lot.
Through questioning, police learned the boy had two younger siblings who were sleeping home alone. He told police his mom had went to do laundry, but would be back.
Police stayed with the boy until the mother returned to the restaurant, which was about 15 minutes later.
Police then followed her to an apartment. Just as the boy stated, two other siblings were home alone.
Police took Tiara Jones, 30, into custody and charged her with child endangering, according to officers. She is scheduled to appear in Brunswick Mayor's Court at 5:30p.m. on Aug. 6.
