MEDINA, Ohio - Three people were arrested after police say they had crack cocaine in the car with a 4-year-old child.
The Medina County Drug Task Force had been investigating illegal drug sales at an apartment complex on West Union Street in Medina, where agents bought heroin and crack cocaine.
Tuesday night, police arrested the suspects, Leonard Ashley, 30; James Foote Jr., 33; and Penny Elsie Avon, 34, all of Medina, during a traffic stop. The task force said another woman and her 4-year-old were also in the car, and they were released.
As for the other three, they face charges for possession of cocaine and trafficking in cocaine, and were taken to the Medina County Jail.
Drug task force agents then searched one of the apartments on West Union Street, where they found heroin, marijuana in the same unit with four children. The suspect they were looking for, 33-year-old Antoine Leonard, was not home at the time. Leonard is wanted for trafficking in heroin.
Other charges are pending after the case is turned over to Medina county Prosecutor Dean Holman.
