BRUNSWICK HILLS, Ohio - Brunswick Hills police chased a suspect in a car for about fifteen minutes until around 1 a.m. Friday the chase ended when the suspect crashed into a police car.
According to police, they got a complaint about the driver and when they attempted to pull the driver over he took off. The chase started at Route 303 and Marks Road and ended on Erhart Road near Route 18 in Litchfield. Police said that they attempted to pass the car to stop him and the driver hit the police car on Erhart Road. The crash knocked the front bumper off the suspect's car and damaged the rear of a Brunswick Hills police car.
After the collision, the driver ran from the car into a corn field. A passenger in the car surrendered to police at the scene of the crash. The driver was able to get away from police for about two hours before being caught.
Brunswick Hills police were assisted by Medina County and Lorain County Sheriffs departments along with the State Highway Patrol and Medina City police. No injuries were reported to the suspect or officers.
