A Cleveland man is dead after crashing with a tractor trailer in Medina County

HARRISVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Medina Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a tractor trailer and a car.

Troopers said Thomas McKenzie, 43, of Cleveland, went left of center on US 42 crashing into a tractor trailer early Saturday morning.

McKenzie was ejected from his 2004 Pontiac GTO.  McKenzie was pronounced dead at the hospital.  Troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The truck driver, Louis Kimberlin, 39, of Fostoria, was able to escape from her overturned truck and suffered only minor injuries. 

US 42 was closed for approximately six hours while the scene was cleared.  Troopers reopened the road around 9:40 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
