WADSWORTH, Ohio - Wadsworth police arrested a woman for attempted murder and aggravated arson as a result of a house fire she is accused of starting.
Carol Gross, 44, was arrested Tuesday and taken to the Medina County Jail after she started a house fire on Wolf Avenue in an attempt to kill an 81-year-old man.
On Nov. 27, 2012, the Wadsworth Fire Department was dispatched to the fire after a couple driving by the home saw smoke coming from the house.
The elderly resident was found inside the house and was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Wadsworth firefighters with the help of Rittman, Seville, Sharon Township and Norton battled the blaze for hours. The house was a total loss.
Gross is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
